FraudGuard Secure Seal is a unique seal that is printed on the face of the check when it is issued. Encrypted inside the seal is information unique to that particular item. Unlike a 2D bar code, the Secure Seal can be aesthetically pleasing, very discreet and of almost any shape or size. Graphics are typically corporate logos, authorizing signatures or decorative borders and may be printed with either MICR or regular laser toner at 240dpi or greater. However the amount of information “hidden” inside the Secure Seal provides all the detail necessary to validate the item.
There are two ways Secure Seal technology can be utilized. First, Secure Seals can be used in conjunction with your positive pay solutions by encoding issue file information into the seal on the face of the check. It’s like a positive pay system that sends the “checks issued” file right along with the check. Second, authorizing signatures themselves can be encoded into seals and reside anywhere on the face of a check. The FraudGuard Signature Seal solution automatically compares the presented signature with a signature encoded in a Secure Seal that is printed on the check, determining with 99.86% accuracy in its authenticity.
